Look, I get it. Airports are generally crowded and really noisy, and that’s enough to irritate most of us. That’s understandable, even for me. However, according to online travelers, some airports are bound to anger us in the worst place possible.

It ultimately boils down to how you manage your composure should anything stressful happen to you in these places. Any outburst could land you in serious trouble, regardless of how disrespectful or disastrous your experiences may be. Here’s how the internet voted on which airports are guaranteed to provide angering experiences. Do you have your own stories?

1. Chicago Midway International Airport

Many people tend to not buy food on flights due to their prices, and that means they’re most probably hungry when they land. But they just can’t feast on anything after their midnight flight to Midway Airport, where food stalls close at 9 p.m.

Some people already mentioned that this airport is not for night flyers. Aside from having closed stores at night, this airport is actually one of the few ones in the U.S. that have a curfew. So if there’s any delay causing you to miss your flight, you can expect to book another one the next day.

2. John Wayne Airport

Passengers complain about the length of delay to get through John Wayne, noting the irksome attitudes of staff and the long TSA queue no one is doing anything about. Some travelers dub it the noisiest airport they’ve been in and would rather not fly its route if they could find alternatives.

3. Newark Liberty International Airport

Notorious for its congestion and delays, infrastructural constraints add to travelers’ woes when they fly through Newark. The airport has been in the news for causing travelers headaches, making it a top contender for our list.

4. Jacksonville International Airport

Jacksonville’s unending traffic jams and overcrowded terminals, resulting in a consistent lack of space in the waiting lobby, have left many travelers furious. The long immigration lines also make many travelers question their arrival.

5. Washington Dulles International Airport

A beautiful airport with a bespoke design, Washington Dulles has cool-looking terminals, according to many travelers. Still, the architectural elegance does not erode the difficulty of accessing and navigating the airport. The teeming sea of heads that form an endless queue doesn’t make it any easier.

6. Philadelphia International Airport

Many say they can’t blame Philadelphia Airport for the congestion and the time it takes to get there, due to major lane closures and police understaffing. But some travelers have no words to spare when describing the decrepit state of this airport, asking that it be refurbished to meet the standard of what a modern airport should look like.

7. LaGuardia Airport

LaGuardia’s cramped quarters, labyrinthine layout, and chronic construction projects have become a hotbed of traveler frustration. The airport never seems to catch a break, and a new construction project appears to be going on all year round.

8. Los Angeles International Airport

LAX, the bustling gateway to the West Coast, is famous for its perpetual traffic jams, and passengers say getting there and getting around the airport makes their blood boil. The airport has nine different, hard-to-navigate terminals, and jumping on connecting flights can be overwhelming.

9. Chicago O’Hare International Airport

Located in a city famously prone to extreme weather conditions, wind gusts and snow storms made flight delays and cancellations common. While nature is to be blamed for the most abysmal customer experiences, the airport management’s lack of infrastructure and widely reactive approach make travelers lose their cool every time.

10. John F. Kennedy International Airport

Another New York City airport on the list, the John F. Kennedy International Airport’s outdated infrastructure and long immigration lines leave many travelers questioning their choice of arrival. The JFK experience often starts a journey with a sour note.

11. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport

Despite getting a much-needed facelift in 2016, many travelers say the slight renovation hasn’t improved customer experience. Most waiting areas are still cramped and drab, with chaotic baggage claims that raise travelers’ stress levels while in transit.
